What is the character naming policy for Age of Conan?

Naming Policy

The goal of the naming policy is to promote the feeling of being immersed into the world of Age of Conan. These policies apply to all player names, regardless how long it has been since they were created. Use of the following will be restricted:

1. Names that are profane, racist, drug references, or obscene are not allowed; this also applies to any homonym, phonetic misspelling, obvious spoonerism, combination, or reverse spelling.

2. Names that are created to defame or impersonate another character are not allowed. This includes names of GMs/FoAs/Funcom employees.

3. Names of NPCs already existing in the game or any of the related works associated with Robert Howard and the Age of Conan game world. This includes any of the deities associated with the Conan pantheon.

4. Names consisting of 3 or more words. This includes names such as Iloveyou, Gimmemoney and Cmerun.

5. Names which are trademarked or licensed by a company or individual, including characters from game lore. Examples of this would be Legolas, Harrypotter, Superman and Illidan.

6. Names that refer to specific religious names or context. This includes names such as Buddha, Jesus and Biblethumper. This would NOT include names such as Holysword or Piousman, as these are non-specific and would not violate this rule.

7. Names in German, Spanish or French which violate these policies.

8. Names in unofficially supported languages which are obscene or profane.

The following additional policies apply to RP Dimensions:

1. Names which have a clear reference to modern day life or culture. This includes names like Robotkiller, Powerman, Coolboy and Synthetic.

2. Names that advertise websites, games, companies etc. This includes names like Wwwmypagedotcom.

3. Names that have no meaning and are a loose collection of letters. This includes names such as Asdf, Qwerty and Asldkgfsfd.

4. Names that are used through the use of modern-day-speak. This includes name such as Roxor, Roflcopter, Olololl and Nupraptor.

6. Names that include or refer to titles. This would include names such as Kingly, Lordtom and Bishopboy.
